An exciting hospitality opportunity exists to operate a café aligned to Australia’s only Cartoon Gallery, the National Cartoon Gallery in Coffs Harbour.  The Gallery, established in 1996 houses over 24,000 cartoons and attracts visitors from all over Australia.

We are seeking a cafe operator with style, flair and business acumen who can make the most of this unique opportunity to create a high-quality café experience.

The café is situated on the 2nd level in a new building that opened in February 2021 with two gallery spaces, a small theatrette and a meeting room.  On the lower level is a shop, another gallery space that is located in a WWII Bunker and an office.

The business would be visibly and conceptually associated with the Gallery, ensuring a steady flow of high-spending cultural tourists and loyal Gallery supporters as an initial customer base on which to grow your business. While the café complements and enhances the visitor experience offered at the Gallery, it also caters for café-specific visitors.

The Gallery is located close to the Coffs Harbour CBD on City Hall and is surrounded by trees and is close to the Coffs Harbour airport with a high level of street appeal.  It has off street parking available, disabled access and top floor rear access. This creates an opportunity to further grow clientele and establish the café as a beloved space in the Coffs Harbour community.

In addition, the café has a commercial kitchen and can seat up to 50 people in the café and the covered outdoor treetop terrace.  The Gallery also runs functions and events and the Café can be used to support the delivery of catered social events at the Gallery as well as provide hospitality services to visitors during the Gallery’s opening hours of 10am to 3pm Tuesdays to Sundays.
